My name is Paul Johnson and I have been working as a Mental Health Clinician with Sound since 2014. In my position with Sound I provide treatment to children, youth, adults and families and I am trained in a variety of evidenced-informed practices, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Emotion Coaching: Helping the Non-Compliant Child. I integrate these approaches with my education in existential-humanistic psychology and I believe that life matters and is worth talking about.

I specialize in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting, emotional disturbance, grief and loss, spirituality, self-esteem and developing strengths and mindful practices. It is my hope that with honesty, kindness, hard-work and a little good-luck positive changes are ahead.

I believe the best way for me to help others with their personal development, is to continually work on developing myself and raising my consciousness.  Life is about experiencing the world around you, and life’s challenges act as catalysts for our learning and personal development; and what we learn from our experiences over time shapes our beliefs.  I can help you sort through your experiences and beliefs to find balance in your life again.

I have been a clinician at Sound since 2010, working in Child and Family Services for 7 years before joining the Sound Solutions team.  Prior to Sound, I earned a Bachelors in Sociology at the University of Montana and a Masters in Community Counseling from Seattle University.  Originally from San Bruno, California, I have called Seattle home since 2005.  I currently live in West Seattle with my husband and our six adopted children.   Professionally, I will help you increase self-awareness through Mindfulness and meditation.  These practices can help to reconnect your mind with the information your physical senses provides and increase your awareness of your emotional and behavioral patterns.  I will provide you with a calming space free from expectations, in which you can process your experiences with the goal of achieving happiness and stability in your life.

My specialties include treating teens and adults with ASD, anxiety, depression, psycho-somatic pain, chronic stress, addictive behavior, and any who simply need help finding their way in life.

Welcome!  My name is Jenn Mayeda and I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and a designated Child Mental Health Specialist.  I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Portland State University.  My experience includes working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, bi-polar disorder, grief and loss, trauma and parenting skills and support.  I work with clients of all ages and specialize in working with survivors and children and families impacted by domestic violence.

My role as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment for clients.  I empower individuals and families to overcome personal obstacles they are experiencing by using a variety of treatment techniques depending on the needs of each individual or family.  I enjoy helping clients explore ways to make changes in their lives and learn new skills so they can have a hopeful and fulfilling future.
